Summer 2007 — Family UpdateThe Barton-Fields-Thompson Family is blessed by the recent completion of two significant milestones: the celebration of the 60th Barton Fields Thompson Family Reunion in Alabama, and the Celebration of the Life and Legacy of Sam Robert Barton in Indiana. The Family of Sam Barton would like to express our sincerest thanks and appreciation for the kind expressions of love, support and sympathy that have been shown to us. We were very grateful and encouraged by all that were able to attend the homegoing celebration, especially those that came from out of town. And a very special thanks to those that attended the Family Reunion and still were able to attend Sam Robert’s Celebration services. We also want to thank the Barton Fields Thompson Family for the generous monetary donation made to the Abundant Faith Family Ministry on behalf of Sam Robert. A Personal Note: Many of you have so graciously expressed your condolences and sympathy for Daddy’s passing. I would like to inform you that I too am sorry for his passing but I am more grateful for his living. He was and is my role model. He has, for the past several years informed us that he was pleased with his life, he was at peace with God, and that it was time for him to join Easter B. He would not want any of us to spend time mourning his passing; he would rather we spend our time keeping the family together and helping each other. To God be the Glory. Robert M. Barton To our beloved relatives, We, the children of Sam Barton, would like to thank all of you sincerely for sharing our sorrow. Thank you for the plant, the cards and the generous monetary gift to Abundant Faith Church in memory of Sam. (The money will be used to help others who might need assistance during their time of need/loss). Thank you to all of you who were able to be with us for his Home going Service and to all of you who desired to be there but couldn’t. Every thought, every prayer and every act of kindness is appreciated more than words can ever say. We can’t express how truly grateful we are for your love and support so we will simply say...Thank you... We love you... and may God richly bless all of you! Sincerely, “Sam’s Clan” 60th Annual Reunion - Alabama, Summer 2007
